Android Ongoing Notification

Display real-time weather data from your favorite station directly in your Android status bar. This premium feature gives you instant access to weather conditions without opening the app.

Note: This feature is only available on Android devices.

What You'll See

The ongoing notification displays:

• Status bar: Current temperature as a small icon (e.g., "9°")
• Notification panel: Station name, selected metrics (temperature, humidity, pressure, etc.), and when the data was last updated

The notification automatically updates every 15 minutes in the background, even when the app is closed.

How to Enable

1. Open SmartMixin on your Android device
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Ongoing Notification
4. Toggle Enable Ongoing Notification on
5. Select your preferred station
6. Choose which metrics to display

That's it! You'll see your weather data appear in the status bar.

Available Metrics

You can customize which data appears in the notification:

Metric	Description
Temperature	Current temperature
Humidity	Relative humidity percentage
Pressure	Atmospheric pressure
Wind Speed	Current wind speed
Gust Speed	Maximum wind gust
Dew Point	Dew point temperature
Hourly Rain	Rain in the last hour
Daily Rain	Total rain today
UV Index	UV radiation level
Visibility	Current visibility
Solar Radiation	Solar radiation intensity

Tip: Only metrics available for your selected station will be shown.

Changing Settings

To modify the notification settings:

1. Go to Settings > Ongoing Notification
2. Change the station or metrics
3. Your notification will update automatically

Disabling the Notification

If you no longer want the notification:

1. Go to Settings > Ongoing Notification
2. Toggle Enable Ongoing Notification off

The notification will be removed from your status bar.

Troubleshooting

Notification Not Appearing

• Check permissions: Android 13+ requires notification permission. Go to your device's Settings > Apps > SmartMixin > Notifications and ensure notifications are enabled.
• Check the channel: Make sure the "Weather Station" notification channel isn't blocked.

Notification Not Updating

• Background restrictions: Some Android devices aggressively limit background activity. Add SmartMixin to your battery optimization exceptions.
• Network required: The notification needs an internet connection to fetch fresh data.

Wrong Temperature/Data

• Station sync: Pull down to refresh on the main screen to ensure your station data is up to date.
• Verify station: Check that the correct station is selected in the notification settings.
