Setting Up Netatmo Energy

This guide will help you connect your Netatmo Energy products to SmartMixin so you can monitor your heating data alongside your weather data.

What Is Netatmo Energy?

Netatmo Energy is Netatmo's smart heating system, which includes the Smart Thermostat and Smart Radiator Valves. By connecting Netatmo Energy to SmartMixin, you can view temperature readings, heating schedules, and setpoint temperatures right next to your weather station data.

Separate from Netatmo Weather

Netatmo Energy is a separate integration from Netatmo Weather. Even if you have already connected your Netatmo Weather Station in SmartMixin, you still need to connect Netatmo Energy separately. The two integrations use different API scopes, so they operate independently.

You can connect one or both -- it's entirely up to you.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

• You have a Netatmo Energy product (Smart Thermostat or Smart Radiator Valves) set up in the Netatmo Energy app
• Your Netatmo account has Energy products linked to it
• Your Energy devices are online and transmitting data

Connection Steps

On the Mobile App

1. Go to Settings > Weather Services > Netatmo Energy
2. Tap Connect
3. You'll be redirected to Netatmo's authorization page
4. Log in with your Netatmo credentials and authorize SmartMixin to access your Energy data
5. You'll be redirected back to SmartMixin

On the Web App

1. Go to Settings > Services > Netatmo Energy
2. Click Connect
3. You'll be redirected to Netatmo's authorization page
4. Log in with your Netatmo credentials and authorize SmartMixin to access your Energy data
5. You'll be redirected back to SmartMixin

That's it! Your Netatmo Energy data will start appearing in SmartMixin.

Available Data

Once connected, SmartMixin can access the following data from your Netatmo Energy devices:

• Temperature readings from your thermostats and radiator valves
• Setpoint temperatures (your target temperatures)
• Heating schedules configured in the Netatmo Energy app

Already Connected Netatmo Weather?

If you have already connected your Netatmo Weather Station, you still need to connect Netatmo Energy separately. They are independent integrations that use different API scopes. Connecting one does not grant access to the other.

Troubleshooting

My homes or thermostats don't appear after connecting

After authorising SmartMixin, your homes should populate within a few seconds. If they don't show up:

1. Pull to refresh on the Energy services screen, or wait one or two minutes for the next sync
2. Confirm in the Netatmo Energy app that your homes and devices are online
3. If the homes still don't appear, disconnect and reconnect Netatmo Energy from Settings > Services > Netatmo Energy — reconnecting forces a fresh sync of your homes

I see Weather modules but not Energy devices (or vice-versa)

Netatmo Weather and Netatmo Energy are separate integrations with different API scopes. Connecting one does not grant access to the other. Connect both from Settings > Services if you want both kinds of data in SmartMixin.

Disconnecting

To disconnect Netatmo Energy from SmartMixin:

1. Go to Settings > Services > Netatmo Energy (or Settings > Weather Services > Netatmo Energy on mobile)
2. Tap or click Disconnect

This will remove SmartMixin's access to your Energy data but won't affect your Netatmo account or your Energy devices.
