Weather Station Reports & Analysis

SmartMixin offers a variety of reports and analyses to help you understand your weather data. Most reports are available with a Premium subscription, and the reports you see depend on which sensors your station has.

How to Access Reports

  • Mobile app: Open a station, then tap the Analysis tab
  • Webapp: Open a station, then click the Analysis tab

Reports are grouped by category -- Outdoor, Temperature, Wind, Rain, Solar, Agromet, and more -- so you can quickly find the analysis you need.

Report Catalog

Annual Water BalancePrecipitation vs. evapotranspiration over the year -- helps monitor soil moisture and irrigation needsRain gauge + Evapotranspiration sensor

Annual Water Balance -- How It Works

The Annual Water Balance chart displays three elements for each month of the year:

  • Rain bars (blue, upward from zero) -- monthly precipitation
  • Evapotranspiration bars (orange, downward from zero) -- monthly water loss through evaporation and plant transpiration
  • Balance line -- cumulative difference between rain and evapotranspiration since the start of the year

A positive balance means your soil has received more water than it has lost, while a negative balance indicates a water deficit -- useful for planning irrigation.

Carry over previous year: By default, the cumulative balance resets to zero on January 1st. If you want a more continuous picture, you can enable the Carry over toggle above the chart. This adds the previous year's final water balance as the starting point for the current year. The toggle label shows the exact carry-over value, e.g. "Carry over 2025 (-150.3 mm)".

Tip: The carry-over only considers one year back (starting from zero on January 1st of the previous year). It does not accumulate across multiple years.

Why Don't I See a Report?

If a report is missing from your Analysis tab, here are the most common reasons:

  • Missing sensor -- The report requires a sensor your station doesn't have. Check the "Required Sensor" column in the tables above.
  • No Premium subscription -- Some reports require a Premium subscription. See Premium Features for details on what's included.
  • New station -- If your station was recently connected, historical data may not be available yet. Give it some time to collect enough data for meaningful reports.

Tip: You can check which sensors your station has in Managing Your Sensors.

Netatmo Energy Reports

If you use Netatmo Energy (thermostat and valves), heating reports are covered in a separate article. See Netatmo Energy Reports & Analysis for details on heating analysis and energy statistics.
